The South Taranaki District Council is seeking two proactive and motivated individuals to fill these key positions in the Roading Unit. These are permanent full time 40 hour per/week positions based in Hawera and will work closely with the Roading Team Leader and team.
These are newly created positions and provide an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of Council's roading services and projects. We are looking for two dynamic people who can build good relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, assist in delivering quality roading and related services, and ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget from initiation through to implementation.
The key purpose of these positions is to maintain the District's Roading, Streetlight and Footpath networks and assets by managing the maintenance contracts and ensure that customer service enquiries relating to the provision of these services are dealt with in accordance with Council Policy. This position will also carry out specific projects and works as required by the Roading Team Leader and assist in organising, planning and implementing strategy.
The ideal applicant will have the following:
- NZCE or Diploma in Civil Engineering or Roading
- STMS qualification
- Experience in road maintenance, construction, or sealing contract management
- Understanding of and commitment to asset management processes and procedures
- Experience with the RAMM suite, in particular RAMM Contractor
- Working knowledge of Roading design standards and industry practice
- Full, clean NZ Driver's license
Applicants must be proactive, self-motivated, well organised and committed to providing excellent service and delivering quality results. Previous experience in asset management and relevant experience in local government would be advantageous as would a project management qualification.
