Senior Roading Engineer

The South Taranaki District Council is seeking a proactive and self-motivated Senior Roading Engineer with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to join our Roading Team. This position would suit a candidate with a relevant engineering qualification such as NZCE or Diploma in Civil Engineering or Roading. The successful applicant will have a sound working knowledge in Roading design standards and industry practices and proven experience in Roading management, policy and procedure writing as well as great administrative skills. Asset Management skills would also be advantageous.

The position is responsible for managing Roading Policy compliance, validating the annual Roading programme, providing technical specialist Roading advice and ensuring NZTA requirements are met. This position is also responsible for ensuring that customer service enquiries relating to the provision of these services are dealt with in accordance with Council Policy. A key feature of the job will be to assist and provide support in implementing the Council's Roading strategy while ensuring that the networks are operated and maintained effectively.
