About the Role - The purpose of this job is to is to project manage the development and review of key Council and community strategies and plans, particularly the long term, annual plan and annual report ensuring they are fit-for-purpose and reflect Council's long-term priorities. This role also undertakes and supports consultation processes ensuring legislative requirements are met.
Do you have what it takes? - This is a busy role and if you want plenty of variety, this role has it from project managing the long-term plan, coordinate stakeholder engagement, engage with Iwi in the development of strategies and policies and research, draft and prepare central government submissions. You will also administer the organisation's delegation register and issue and revoke officer warrants.
About You - You are a talented team player with a diploma or experience with project coordination, policy support or governance administration, have a strong understanding of local government procedures and knowledge of a broad range of legislation, particularly the Local Government Act, Resource management Act and the Reserves Act. You will have the ability to connect and engage with a wide variety of stakeholders building new relationships and your communication skills will be of a high caliber enabling you to engage with a range of key audiences.
Applicants for this position must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand, therefore must have NZ residency or hold a valid NZ work visa. In terms of residence class visa applications, priority will be given where the applicant is in New Zealand.
The salary range for this position is between $77,220pa and $85,800pa and the appointed starting level will be dependent on skills and experience and will be discussed during interviews with shortlisted candidates.
